Thank you for posting this. I was vilified on Facebook for saying the same thing. We want our villians to be exposed on front page, but we get upset when our “heroes” are exposed on page two. No one is above scrutiny, no one is above the law, no one is above accountability and no one is “too good” to be reported about. The danger he exposed so many to, including himself, is so much greater than his momentary humiliation. And, yes, drunk drivers rarely get caught the first time, this is by their own reports. Plus when they have gotten to the point they are drunk driving in the morning, it is at a critically dangerous place.

    • I’m assuming you were commenting on my post about Dr. Raley…. 🙂

Yes, I was. I’m sure the locals did not get all ‘riled up’ when the tree poisoner was front page news. Some even said a person’s name should not be posted only upon arrest since they had not been convicted. This is ridiculous! The news is not subject to the laws of criminal procedure. The fact of the arrest is news in itself. ie. the tree poisoner, the football players on page one today, the arrest of Courtney Lockhart for murder and on and on. It only steps on toes when it is “our” toes. I’m thinking that if I drink and drive and get arrested, I might get my name in the newspaper no matter who I am, but especially if I am “known” in any way.

        Keep up the good work!
