It’s about time! The Breezeway, a locally owned and operated restaurant in Downtown Opelika, opened for breakfast this week. This is exciting for those of us who work in and around downtown especially since Tyler’s closed its doors after 42 years.
No one needs to be told that The Breezeway serves the best lunches and dinners in Downtown or that it has the best service (and with a smile, I might add). You won’t find a more welcoming atmosphere where they are glad to serve you and call you by name.
Signature chicken fingers aside, The Breezeway has the best BLT on sourdough you will find anywhere and the catfish plate is wonderful, too. I could go on and on about how good the food is and how friendly the servers are. Downtown Opelika is lucky to have The Breezeway among its stores and restaurants.
Downtown Opelika has seen a lot of growth over the past several years. I’m hoping this new endeavor will bring some new businesses, longer shopping hours and more consumers to the area. I urge you to support our local business and restaurants because they are the people who truly care about your business and support.
Located at 213 South 8th Street in Opelika, The Breezeway is open for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. They are open until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
